In STC-12, the pressure inside the aluminum cylinder can be boosted up to 50bar by means of a lever functioning as a pump. The values on each strain gauge are reported on digital display and 13-channel switcher with respect to its angle and location on the cylinder. It is worth mentioning that in test calculations, the effects caused by the lateral strain (caused by Poisson ratio) should be considered and compared to experiential values.
