This machine is intended to prepare impact test pieces; the specimen is clamped on the machine and pushed forward manually using a handle to mesh with rotary blade (it should be noted that the blade electric motor is turned on and off by a push button switch (ON/OFF). The notch is cut when the specimen passes the rotary blade, then the polymer test piece is ready for impact test. The machine is equipped with a gauge for adjusting the specimen height as well as an accurate mechanism for adjusting the notch depth; a table sliding on two linear guides (accuracy 100mm measured by dial gauge) sets the standard depth on the specimen. For more safety, the machine has a Plexiglas shield to protect the operator against swarf or prevents the specimen from jumping out. The machine cannot be switched on when the protective shield is open; therefore closing the protective shield is mandatory.
