The rotating fatigue testing machine, model SFT-600, is an educational system designed to investigate specimen failure under reverse alternating loads using two-point loading mechanism. The system can analyze and present test results in stress-cycle (S-N) graphs, where the vertical axis represents stress, and the horizontal axis represents the number of cycles. The graph illustrates how many cycles the specimen can withstand under the applied stress. The load is applied using dead weights, generating a maximum bending moment of 10 N.m. To achieve the required rotational speed, the system is equipped with an AC servo motor and driver, capable of controlling speeds from 0 Hz to 50 Hz. The drive operates with a single-phase 220V input, and provides a 3-phase output allowing speed to 6000 RPM. The system incorporates microswitches that automatically stop the machine upon specimen failure.
