The machine is capable of performing elastic torsion tests on specimens of identical length and diameter but made from different materials, allowing comparison of their torsional behavior. the shear modulus of each material is determined from the torque-angle (T-θ) curve. Torque is applied manually by means of a hanger and calibrated weights, providing a maximum torque of 5 N.m. The angel of twist is measured using an adjustable protractor mounted along the specimen, with a resolution of 1˚. The system is compatible with specimens up to 400 mm in length and 5 mm in diameter.
