The SCT-25 Creep Measurement Apparatus is equipped with a loading lever providing a mechanical advantage of 8:1. Specimen elongation is measured by a dial gauge through a displacement magnification mechanism with a 2:1 ratio. Lead and plastic specimens are subjected to constant dead-weight loading, allowing determination of the primary, secondary, and tertiary creep regions from the deformation-time curve. The apparatus is supplied with calibrated weights and accessories for accurate application of load to the test specimen.

The apparatus is used to demonstrate the concept and behavior of material creep at ambient temperature, particularly for materials such as plastics and lead. The three standard stages of creep (primary, secondary, and tertiary) can be observed by plotting the creep-time curve.
