This machine can be used to study the vibration shape (mode shapes) of a rotating shaft under different support conditions and at various speeds. For this purpose, two types of supports are provided: hinged (flexible) and plain (fixed). The system is equipped with two safety loops to limit shaft deflection and prevent the shaft from entering the plastic deformation zone in case of excessive vibration amplitude. The test specimens consist of two sets of three steel shafts each, with diameters of 3, 6, and 7 mm, and length of 600 and 900 mm. There is also the possibility of installing three unbalance discs on the 7-mm shaft.
