This machine is designed to carry out easy and accurate bending test on ceramics; the operation mechanism is servo electrical with ball screw (double columns) and AC servomotor and driver. A load cell, class 0.5 (max. error 0.5% of readings within the range of 2%-100% of the load cell capacity) is used in accordance with  EN 10002, ISO 7500 to measure the load. The machine has an infinite stroke sensor with resolution of 0.03 μm in idle mode (not loaded) and measurement accuracy better than 0.05mm in full stroke. The machine speed corresponds the testing rate at the range of 0.001-1000 mm/min, the stroke with load cell and grips is 800mm, and without grips is 1000mm, the space between the two columns is 700mm. There is the capability of mounting various tensile, compression and bending grips, as well as types of fixtures and specialized grips in lower capacities than the machine. Various load cells with low capacities can be mounted to increase measurement accuracy, they are automatically identified after installation and its parameters are set subsequently.Machine control is fully computerized with serial port RS-232 and USB using DSP hardware technology (Digital Signal Processing). It has a powerful software compatible with windows XP intended to set test, display reports and carry out compression, tensile, bending, creep, cyclic, relaxation tests with/without furnace as well as other special capabilities in accordance with technical specifications of STM series (software description is included in the catalogue). For easy calibration, software calibration system for load cell and extensometer is intended. Equipped with heating chamber up to 1500ºC with temperature stability of ±0.5ºC  to study the test piece thermal stress while bending under working temperature conditions. It is also equipped with thermocouples type S, PLC control system, as well as HMI display.

This machine is designed to carry out bending test on ceramics and analyzing their bending strength. Bending specimen is tested at elevated temperature under controlled conditions, this type of testing is mainly used in research and quality control of hot work parts (such as ceramic materials for steel injection molding).
