SPH 500B has a touch screen HMI display on which you can define important test parameters such as temperature, press load and time, force, preheating time, exhausting cycles (intervals), force and sheet cooling time. These parameters can be predefined individually for several programs (up to 10 programs) and in case of changing the material, the appropriate program is selected and test is carried out according to the defined program. It should be noted that to check the whole process during the test, parameters such as the time of test steps, press discs real-time temperature, the load applied to plate, etc. are all observed online. Max jack stroke (300mm) and distance between press plates (130mm) facilitate easy loading and application. Plate dimension is 400*450mm and tray dimension is 300*340mm on which the mold is placed and moves among the plates to heat up and cool down the material and mold. Machine has two thermal zones (hot and cold), two lower plates are the cold zone (attached to hydraulic cylinder) to cool down the produced sheet and upper plates are the heat zone to heat up and soften the materials. In addition, SPH-500 is equipped with mechanical clamps to limit lower plate and middle plate stroke while opening. There is a micro switch to stop the machine during lower plate descending. The machine is equipped with uniform heating system and PID temperature controller, max 300˚C with 0.1˚ accuracy. Since the machine applies pressure on the specimen under hot conditions, all plates are hard chrome plated to withstand heat and applied pressure and prevent corrosion. To apply uniform pressure on the materials, an advanced mechanism is installed under the lower plate to arrange them parallel to each other. A hydraulic system applies pressure on the specimen via the feedback from an accurate oil pressure sensor (tolerance ±100kg) and while attached to the hydraulic jack can increase the applied load up to 50t on the plates. In this case, the loss of force that may occur during the testing is automatically compensated. Cold plates have water-cooled system to produce quality sheets and preparing the machine for producing more sheets. Moreover, the machine has a strong chassis and four robust columns that create lower creep while reducing the load loss. The machine (1750mm*800mm*1100mm) can easily move by means of the wheels. Aluminum frame with transparent Plexiglas shield and laser light screen provide safe operation. Any foreign object or body contact within 20mm of the press would stop the machine and plates right away.
SPH-500B is mainly used to produce plastic sheets from granules, and rubber sheets from compounds. Tensile, impact and bend test piece are produced from plastic sheets; and tensile, tear, HDT-Vicat… test pieces are produced from rubber sheets. The machine has the following applications:

•Research on producing new polymeric materials
