The machine is designed for conducting compression tests at elevated temperatures and comes complete with grip, interface, and furnace. Note that, tensile furnaces and interfaces cannot be used for this test. The height has been minimized in hot test accessories; self-aligning mechanism has been implemented at the top of the grip using a special technique, and single-zone furnaces are used for this type of test. Grip interfaces are equipped with water circulation system to prevent heat transfer to other sections of the machine Circular furnace is used for this type of test (to ensure uniformity of the angular temperature gradient) with designated zones (to ensure uniformity of the vertical temperature gradient). The maximum working temperature is 1200 ºC; however, for continuous operation, a maximum of 1000 ºC is available. A digital controller controls the thermal zones, and the furnace temperature is accurately regulated with a resolution of 0.1 ºC. Moreover, a transducer can be installed on the specimen to measure the temperature directly. This transducer incorporates a separate display to indicate the specimen temperature, with a resolution of 0.1 ºC.”
The machine is designed to conduct accurate compression tests at elevated temperature to determine the compression strength of the specimen under high temperature, which has a wide range of applications in research and quality control of steel parts (barreling effect).
