By adjusting the rotational speed, the system enables complete 360\u02da plotting of follower displacement as a function of cam angle. Jerk points in the cam-follower motion can be identified directly from the plotted curve; these effects can be reduced or eliminated by selecting a different spring or replacing the cam profile. Additional motion diagrams \u2013 such as displacement-angle, velocity-angle, and acceleration-angle can be derived form the primary curve recorded by the mechanical plotter.
