\nThe STW-3000H torsion testing machine is designed to evaluate the torsional strength and shear properties of materials, including high-strength wires using standard specimens.
\nDriven by a servo-electromechanical system with an AC servo motor, the machine features a precision torque transducer (accuracy better than 1% of reading within 2% to 100% of full capacity) and a digital rotary encoder for angle measurement with a resolution of 0.001\u00b0.
\nFor torsion testing on high-strength materials such as PC wires, wire ropes, and hardened steel wires, the STW-3000 torsion testing machine (capacity: 3000 N.m) is equipped with heavy-duty hydraulic grips. High-strength steel wires typically feature hardened surfaces, presenting significant gripping challenges and a risk of slippage. Hydraulic gripping system applies high, uniform clamping pressure around the specimen using oil pressure. This uniform distribution minimizes stress concentration and prevents contact point damage that could otherwise cause premature fracture and invalid test results. to ensure secure clamping without slippage, three-jaw hydraulic chucks with specialized alloy steel jaw faces are utilized. The system includes an integrated hydraulic power unit, control system, and a portable control pendant for convenient jaw opening and closing.
\nIt is fully computerized system connected to a PC via an RS-232 serial port using Digital Signal Processing (DSP) software technology.
\nThe user-friendly software plots torque versus angle of twist curves and generates comprehensive reports, including data for stress shear (\u03c4), shear strain (\u03b3), shear modulus, yield shear strength, torsional toughness, test speed, specimen dimensions, graph analysis. Furthermore, the software identifies key structural points directly on the graph, such as the ultimate torque, fracture torque, yield point torque, and angle of twist at fracture.
\nA transparent safety guard protect the operator from flying debris in the event of a specimen fracture. A separate control keyboard, featuring JOG buttons manages grip rotation precise specimen positioning.
