\nThe SDWT-100 drop-weight impact testing machine is designed to perform impact testing of composite materials in accordance with ASTM D7136\/D7136-15 using controlled drop-weight configuration.
\nThe machine is primarily intended for evaluating the damage resistance of a fiber-reinforced polymer matrix composite specimen subjected to a drop-weight impact. Its standard configuration, including the striker, anvil, and impact energy capacity complies with standards
\nFor testing other materials, such as metals, polymers, and pipes, the machine can be configured with alternative impact capacities, interchangeable strikers and anvils, and drop heights to meet the requirements of the applicable testing standards.
\nThe machine consists of a rigid load frame, an electromechanical lifting mechanism, a striker locking and release mechanism, anvil, punch, calibrated drop weights, a protective safety guard, a control unit, and an electric control panel. The electromechanical system provides control of striker lifting and release operations, ensuring accurate and repeatable impact testing.
\nThe system supports optional striker instrumentation to determine and display parameters, including total fracture energy, crack initiation energy and crack propagation energy, specimen yield force and max. impact force. This instrumentation enables real-time plotting of force-time and velocity-time curves during the impact event. Additionally, the system includes dedicated software for off-line graphical analysis and curve plotting.
